The tower built by Antonio Averulino called the Filarete rises in the center of the front side of the Castello turned towards the city.

Walking into the Castello and through the Piazza delle Armi ( Arms Yard) you meet the Cortile della Rocchetta ("Rocchetta" Yard) on the left and the Corte Ducale (Ducal Yard) with the Portico dell'Elefante (Elephant Arcade) on the right.

They are the old walkways for the rounds which still connect the various towers of the Castello.
From them you can exactly understand the architectural structure of the building and enjoy an enchanting sight of the centre of the city.

Walking through the Porta del Barchio (Wall of the Barchio) you find the Piazza del Cannone (Cannone Yard) connected to the Parco Sempione.
